Combined CRMRC & VAS Event (Rocket Lauching and Star Gazing Party

Saturday (6/12) only.

"Look Up In The Sky"

- High power launch and star party with the Champlain Region Model Rocket Club ( http://www.crmrc.org/ )and the Vermont Astronomical Society (VAS) at the St. Albans launch site.

Directions:
I89 Exit 19, onto exit ramp, continue straight through traffic lights until road ends in a "T" with RT 7, about 0.8mi
- Go right, north on Rt 7 into downtown St. Albans for 0.7mi. Go left on Lake Street at the traffic light.
- Follow Lake Street for 2.8 mi until it turns into Maquam Shore Road.
- Follow Maquam Shore Road for another 2.3mi and look for the CRMRC sign on the right.

Schedule as follows:

..1400 setup

..1500-1700 afternoon flying

..1700-1800 dinner break (more on this later)

..1800-dusk evening flying

..dusk-2200 night flying (requires lit rocket)

..dusk-0000 VAS star party (sky observation and through telescopes/binoculars)


Dinner will be as follows: everyone brings their own beverages, main dish, cups/plates/silverware and bring one of the following to share with everyone: appetizer, side dish, salad, or dessert (and a utensil to serve it). We need someone to commit to bringing a gas grill for cooking, along with utensils.
One special rule will be that all high power rockets must be RSOed by 2030 so that it is done in daylight. There will be a Porta-Potti on site since we will be there so long. If someone who drives a long way needs a place to stop for the night, Howie Druckerman has an extra bedroom and sleeper couch.
There is no alternate day for this launch (Saturday only)
