The Vermont Astronomical Society is working with local libraries to bring astronomy to anyone with a library card.  VAS has packaged high quality, portable, and easy-to-use telescopes with everything a library patron would need to explore the night sky effectively.  These telescope packages can be checked out and taken home just like a book or CD.  To start viewing the night sky, patrons only need a well-balanced table on which to place the telescope.

The following Vermont libraries currently have telescopes available for loan to their patrons through this program:

Brownell Library

St Albans Free Library

Haston Library

Lawrence Memorial Library

Carpenter-Carse Library

Ilsley Public Library
