NGC 4236 (Caldwell 3) is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Draco and is a member of the M81 (UMa) group of galaxies, which include M81 and M82. It's about 11.5 million light-years from Earth, has a diameter of over 140,000 light-years, and is believed to contain about one trillion stars.
I thought this was kind of neat since it's different than many of the other spiral/elliptical galaxies I've captured this season. Unfortunately, even with 5 hours on this target I didn't get the detail I was hoping for. Next year, maybe!
Capture Date: 5/9/23, 5/10/23
Askar 107PHQ
ASI2600MC Pro (OSC camera)
ZWO AM5 mount with guiding via ASIAir Plus using an ASI178mm mini and a 60mm F4 guide scope
Light Frames [Total Exposure 5:00] used Antlia Triband Ultra RGB filter -- 600s x 30 frames
All light frames calibrated with dark, flat, and bias frames
Pre- and post-processed in PixInsight
Additional post-processing in Photoshop for exposure adjustments and generation of jpeg

Greg, another nice one! You've been busy! Where do you find the time?
Terri
@terri Thanks, Terri. I think my wife considers herself an Astrophotographer's (if I can be so presumptuous) Widow. 😀 And I still have 4 or 5 more to process! I think I'm processed-out for the day, though.

They your wife probably likes the long stretches of bad weather... because you are probably inside more than outside at the telescope. Or maybe you're stuck in your study staring at pixinsight!
