I shot this in December, during the last clear nights. I captured pretty good Ha, but the OIII is very dim and almost non-existent. So this is mostly Ha.
I think it's ok.
Shot with an Astrophysics Stowaway scope at 491mm and barely fits. I used Chroma 3nm Ha and OIII filters along with an ASI6200 camera at 60mp.
The California Nebula is a faint emission nebula in the Perseus constellation. It's nearly 2.5 degrees across. Visually it's hard to see but it's one of the hand full of nebula that's aided by a Hydrogen beta filter. It's approximately 1000 ly from us and the glowing portion of the nebula is 100 ly in size.
