This is a bit of old news from last July 17th. Posting here as a much to test the forum setup as much as to share info.
Comet NeoWise observed from Redmond Road in Williston using a pair of Konus 20x80 Binoculars. Imaged with a Google Pixel 3 smartphone.
Definitely quick and dirty as a single frame hand held grab. I'm sure other club members did much better. Please feel free to extend this thread with your viewing records and images. -- Scott Turnbull posting as Website Admin
Checking the reply function under my own ID.
Not seeing a place to add an image as part of a reply.
Trying another reply.... see the "Attach file" option just below the text panel.
This image, taken with the 20x80 Konus Binoculars and a phone mount holding the Pixel 3 shows the tail as much less distinct than the previous week.
Switching back to my personal ID, again. Still see the "Attach file" option.
This is another single frame capture from July 27.
Combination of hazy sky and past-prime-viewing make this a fuzzy smudge.
Great catch Scott!
